Neil Gayler

Founder

After a dalliance with medicine at Dundee University Medical School, Neil spent the first 34 years of his working life as a Financial Adviser, 13 as a self-employed Company Representative and the following 21 years running his own Independent Financial Advisory practice, Neil Gayler & Co.  Following the sale of the regulated advice part of the practice in 2019, he has continued to work within the firm drawing on his vast experience to provide the "non-regulated" services that are available.   This comprises Lifestyle Financial Planning and Cashflow Modelling, Estate Planning which includes the drafting of Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorney, Later Life and Care Fees Planning guidance.

Outside of work, he leads mindfulness walks in the Cotswolds, looks after his allotment and spends much of his spare time in nature.  He is a keen forager and bushcraft practitioner and has an aspiration to move into the countryside, live simply and become largely self-sufficient.

 

He also runs a holistic healing practice, Imperial Holistic Therapies, and is a fully qualified Reiki Master as well as being able to offer treatments including Swedish Massage, traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage, Shamanic Healing and journeying including Soul Retrieval, Past Life Regression Therapy, Sound Healing, Crystal Healing and Assemblage Point alignment.

He has two grown-up sons, the elder now living and working in London, and the younger in his final year studying law at Exeter University.

Helen Cound
Personal Assistant to Neil Gayler

Helen is a fully trained and highly qualified PA, with many years' experience in providing one-to-one assistance and professional business support at the highest level.  She has previously worked in various sectors and mainly at Chairman/CEO level in the Commodity Trading, Investment Banking and Financial Services sectors in the City of London.     

 

Helen joined Neil Gayler & Co in June 2017 to assist Neil to practice manage his burgeoning client bank and to help in bringing his many creative and interesting new projects to fruition.   She knows how to get things done in the right way and aims to ensure that Neil’s time and energy is channelled towards the activities which make the company one of Cheltenham’s best-known and most respected Financial Planning firms and a leading provider in the region of Later Life and Care Fees Funding advice.

 

Away from the office, Helen and her husband, Tim, have two sons who are both at university.  They also run a home-based cottage accommodation business.  More recently, Helen has developed a passion for genealogy and enjoys researching her family history.
